Meet the Principal

About 

Meghan Dames was appointed Greenbriar Principal in July 2026.

A dedicated educator with 24 years of experience, Ms. Dames is a familiar face to the District 28 community. From 2012 to 2025, she worked as Greenbriar’s School Social Worker. In July 2025, Ms. Dames was promoted to an administrative role as the Assistant Director of Student Services at Meadowbrook School. Ms. Dames also worked for several years as the Principal of the district’s Summer Enrichment Program.  

Before beginning her journey in District 28, Ms. Dames started her career in education as a School Social Worker in Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34. 

Ms. Dames holds a master’s degree in Education Administration from Benedictine University, as well as a master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

A former college athlete, in her free time, Ms. Dames enjoys watching all types of sports, especially soccer. She also enjoys quality time with her close-knit family, the great outdoors, and dogs. Her favorite children's book is the classic "Corduroy".
